Wife’s favorite Christmas album
Bought it for my wife for Christmas. She listened to this as a child and we used to have a cassette tape version that got lost during one of our moves…the CD is now ripped on to the computer and MP3 players…listened to it on our trip home in the van…lots of fun singing along.

Every artist and music group spins out a Christmast album at least once , so there is a lot of competition out there for Christmas albums, but this one has to be one of the all time bests, maybe the best!

‘Good But Okay CD!’
‘Mary’s Boy Child’/’Oh My Lord’ is a beautiful Christmas song that was originally sung by singer Harry Belafonte years earlier (my favorite song on the CD even though there’s an omitted verse and this is the radio edited version); ‘When A Child Is Born’ is another beautiful Christmas song that was originally sung by singer Johnny Mathis years earlier; ‘White Christmas’ is a nice song that has a Reggae-flavored rhythm/beat to it (good to dance to); ‘Feliz Navidad’ is another great song to dance to with the horns thrown in for effect; ‘Jingle Bells’ is another great song to dance to and the vocals by the group were good; ‘Zion’s Daughter’ is a good song and the vocals are good as well; ‘Darkness Is Falling’ is a lovely song and the vocals by the group is also lovely; ‘Hark The Herald Angels Sing’ is a good song and Liz Mitchell’s vocals are lovely; ‘Little Drummer Boy’ is another lovely song and the vocals were good; ‘The First Noel’ is a very nice song along with the group’s vocals; ‘Oh Christmas Tree’ is a nice song and the vocals were good; ‘I’ll Be Home For Christmas’ is a good song, Bobby’s vocals were ‘okay’ (he was not the greatest singer in the group, and the song sounded like something I would hear at ‘Oktoberfest’);’Oh Come All Ye Faithful’ is a nice song and the group’s vocals were very nice; ‘Petit Papa Noel’ is a good song even though it was sung in French and it was short; ‘Winter Fairy-Tale’ is a song I haven’t heard in a very long time; I remember the song as a child, it’s an instrumental and it’s very lovely with the sound of the ocean and birds chirping which made me feel as though I were on a tropical island; ‘Joy To The World’ is a nice song to dance to and the vocals were nice as well; ‘Auld Lang Syne’ is my favorite New Year’s Day song and the vocals are different; ‘Christmas Medley’ is very nice (a little too long) but nice nonetheless; ‘Boney M. Featuring Daddy Cool Kids Mary’s Boy Child/Oh My Lord’ is terrible! I prefer the original 1978 version and not a weak remake by a bunch of kids that don’t know how to sing! It was probably the worst track on the CD! As I said: ‘Good but ‘okay’ CD!’

Bought it mainly for Mary’s Boy Child, but the whole CD turned out being great. Just love ALL the songs. Great to hear these classics again. So sad, not so much in the stores anymore, around the holidays. Got it just in time to sing along on Christmas Eve.This is a keeper. 🙂
